I have used this to increase memory in two laptops and to recycle devices and to saving about a dozen desktop computers that I sent for electronic recycling. I kept the internal cards and memory but got rid of the motherboards and cases. I was happy with how everything turned out. I had to order two pads. I will then trade in my desktop for a newer, larger server chassis. Both housings must be protected against static electricity. I'm kicking myself because I didn't know it was really amazing and had to order two. I also bought anti-static gloves and an anti-static wrist strap. Maybe exaggerated. But I didn't want to risk damaging a device or storage. Check out my other reviews if you're looking for reviews of other anti-static products I've ordered from Revain. Ouch. Be careful with sharp edges on desktop cases. This rug can tear or be punctured by sharp edges as it is soft.
