Review on 🧡 Tiny Serger Overedging Machine for Singers by Hannah Curi

Too picky for me

I got my little car yesterday. I bought it despite all the negative reviews because there were enough positive reviews.1. READ THE MANUAL! All the comments about the complicated machine put me off a bit, but I didn't find FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS that scary. However, there are a streaming step or two that were a bit unclear. So when the book says to wrap the thread through the tension knobs, it doesn't mean you have to wrap the thread all the way around the handle, not just on one side. Second, when you put on the spools of thread, make sure the side with the little notch that holds the end of the thread is down. Otherwise your thread will most likely get stuck in a small notch and you will end up with a broken thread.2. Noisy. Hey what do you expect for $50?3. No streaming light. Now other comments. Don't forget to turn off the device when you're done - there's no on/off switch. Be sure to take your foot off the pedal when changing the fabric direction or any other function, otherwise the machine may sew when you do not want it to. The small car is on the tricky side. Sometimes it "freezes" or hangs. The motor continues to run, but the machine does not sew. If this happens, move the flywheel by hand to get the machine running again. Or take your foot off the pedal, turn the knob a few times and try again. You may have to do this a few times to "peel" the car. Be careful, don't keep sewing with a stuck machine - you could burn out the motor. I'm giving this car to our local "distribution shop" at the church. You get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Neat the edges of the fabric so it doesn't fray
Cons
  • old
